About the Hall of Fame
The GBBTA Hall of Fame was introduced by Albert Orme to celebrate the outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact on the world of majorettes, carnival world, baton twirling and poms. It is dedicated to recognising those whose passion, commitment and dedication have helped shape our community, inspire future generations and keep our traditions alive.
From performers and trainers to volunteers, officials and behind-the-scenes supporters, every inductee has played an important role in the growth and success of our activity. Their achievements, leadership and unwavering support deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
The GBBTA Hall of Fame is more than a collection of names – it is a tribute to the people whose hard work, talent and love for the sport have left a lasting legacy. We are proud to honour those who have gone above and beyond, ensuring that their contributions will continue to inspire generations to come.

FRANK SMITH APPRECIATION AWARD
About Frank Smith
Frank Smith was a much-loved GBBTA official and a dedicated member of the majorette community for many years. His journey began with the Liverpool Crusaders, where he supported his daughter throughout her time as a majorette under the leadership of Albert Orme, Life President.
When Albert founded the GBBTA, Frank became an invaluable part of the association. He was often the very first friendly face competitors and supporters would see each morning, welcoming everyone through the doors with a smile. His commitment, kindness and unwavering support made him a truly treasured member of the GBBTA family.
Sadly, after a long battle with ill health, Frank passed away in November 2025. He is deeply missed every single day by all of us at GBBTA.
To honour Frank's incredible dedication and everything he gave to our association, we are proud to present the Frank Smith Appreciation Shield. Each year, this award will be presented to someone who, like Frank, has gone above and beyond in their commitment and support of GBBTA. It is our way of recognising those whose hard work, kindness and dedication help make our association so special.
We are also incredibly grateful that Frank's wife, Carol, remains a valued member of the GBBTA team. It is a privilege to have Carol present the Frank Smith Appreciation Shield to this year's deserving recipient.
